Perpetrator of foul behavior in NO arrested

NEW ORLEANS -- An Alabama man was arrested late Thursday in connection with a video appearing to show someone in a University of Alabama jacket abusing an unconscious Louisiana State University fan after Alabama beat LSU for the BCS football championship.

Brian Downing, 32, of Smiths Station, Ala., was booked on charges of sexual battery and obscenity. He was videotaped Jan. 9 "placing his genitals on an LSU fan's face. The LSU fan appears to be heavily inebriated and practically unconscious," a police statement said.

Smith Station is in Russell county 30 miles south of Opelika off of highway 280. Alabama Power company generating plant Franklin is located there.

We have all focused on this mobs actions as immature and disgusting and sexually assaultive. What bothers me is that no one regarded this as a medical emergency. People who are that drunk are at risk for fatal alcohol poisoning, aspirating their vomit, etc. This guy needed an ambulance not a johnson in his face.

I listened to a lady on the radio that witnessed the events and
she gave a little different account

she said that the "baggie" was screaming obscenities at Bama fans on
his way down the street and he went into the hamburger joint .
there were lsu fans there taking pictures and video as well and making fun
of the guy too .
she gave a pretty good account of all the things that happened up until the
bagging took place .

There is drunk and there is unconscious. You don't have to be a neurologist to tell the difference. And yes, everytime some gets unconscious they need the EMTs to be called. Don't think thats just a waste of taxpayer money. In this case this loser would wake up to a splitting headache and a $5000 ambulance/hosp bill.

I'm not sure what your religious values are but mine don't square with ignoring the medical and predation danger that that fellow was in. Im calling him a bus.
