Lee might be a better pure passer than Jefferson, but by the time Miles might have thought to turn to him in the second half, the Tigers' offensive line was getting whipped like a rented mule. Once Alabama forced LSU to essentially abandon its inside running game, the Crimson Tide pinned its ears back and drew a bead on Jefferson.

Pretty accurate assessment.

Very odd. And Lester said he didn't see that coming. I don't think it would have mattered anyway, but he was asking for a beating by not utilizing his best athletes.

Just me, but I thought the HAT had a distinct lack of emotion during the game, start to finish.

And in contrast, we have CNS who is blowing his top at an offsides 5 yd penalty with the game in the bag.

In the presser, right after Bobby Herbert ripped the hat a new one, Lester explicitly stated that the problem was with the pressure and that it wouldn't have made a stitch of difference who he had in there: there would be no time to throw the ball.

LSU trying to stretch Bama to the corners the whole game. Dumbest thing ever. Fastest "D", great tacklers, and you decide to try and beat them sideline to sideline? I was starting to give CLM slack on the eating grass/clock management/being stupid thing. Not now!

IMO, I think Bama had them completly beat mentally
about halfway through the third quarter. The expressions on JJ's face really told the tale of the whole team.
