I love it. They had 11 teams sent to the NCAA Tourney based on their reputation, but so far, only 2 teams have made it to the Sweet 16, the same as the Mountain West.

Year in and year out the northeastern media hypes the big east. The Big East has won 2 NCs in the last 10 years, the SEC 2, and the ACC has won 5.

Was watching coverage and Charles Barkley called them the Big Least - said they would be lucky to get 5 teams through the weekend. Good call, Round Mound.

Yeah, when he made that comment, the other "expets" laughed at him. Right now, the best the Big East will get to the Sweet 16 is four teams, assuing UCONN beats FSU today.

I don't think they were overrated... just beat up on themselves throughout the season.  Kinda gets tiring by the end of the year.  (Let me also add I may feel that way because St. Johns and Pitt really let me down)

LOL!! Very true. The bottom line is they sent 11 teams to the tourney and, so far, only 4 have made it to the Sweet 16.
