That said, one player on that team did come to Saban's defense -- safety Yeremiah Bell tried to mitigate Evans' take on things to the Palm Beach Post.

"I think it was a lot worse than coach Saban knew," Bell said of James' condition, which was brought on by dehydration. "I just don't think that we as players even knew how bad it was."

James was hospitalized that day, and it should be mentioned that Saban visited his player in the hospital.

"It made me feel pretty good about this team to see my head coach there," James said at the time.

Saban may be awkward in those situations.  Heck, a lot of people are.  My dad did and would do anything for anybody but when my mom got very sick he was pretty much useless.  Somebody else's wife got sick and he would bring them stuff from his garden, whatever.  Sometimes when people feel close to a situation they shut down a little.  Doesn't make them "velly bad man."

2 things that make me think he's a good guy are:
1) Mrs. Terry is a class act- She is just a great representative of UA.  I don't think she would have married a dud

2) Nick's Kids- While Bob Stoop's wife is busy trying to become a Mary Kay millionaire the Sabans are hustling to give back to children.  A lot of these coaches wives are low profile and I can respect that- it is not their duty to start a charity or whatever.  If they are gonna be in the public eye I think it is much more admirable to do so for your charity work than your personal gain.  Just my opinion.

This wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that Heath Evans is a dyed-in-the-wool Auburn man who hates everything to do with Alabama, would it? Nah, he wouldn't let that color his perceptions.  Cry

Not only is he a barner, but CNS also cut him after 7 weeks with the Dolphins. Hmmm. Undecided

Evans was a punk at the barn and it looks like that hasn't changed.

A big non-story because it supposedly happened in 2006.

Where' it been for 6 years.

Second, that radio statio hated on CNS when he left in January 2007.

Another thing, Al Del Greco from Jox, was down there in Miami for a wedding when CNS left the Dolphins. Del Greco, an aubie, ran around with a phone and let people talk on the radio from down there to up here and gave them a platform to voice their displeasure about Coach Saban leaving Miami.

I think that Jox show committs the cardinal sin, it' boring. I don't care if Barker is on it. It is still boring.

I know what I've seen.  What I've seen is not the man Evans describes.  Where is Evans and where is Coach Saban? Smiley

Heath Evans, now that is a very familier name that you hear on all of the sports talk shows, a very popular fellow, and he's taking shots at a nobody by the name of Saban. If he keeps up the good work he might even make the Finebaum show next.  Huh?
