As I said in an earlier thread, to go undefeated in the SEC West meant nothing.

This year, you're right, but in other years it would have meant a trip to the NCAA.

We need Ark to upgrade their program. It would help us if LSU would improve. In the past going 10-6 in the SEC and finishing 2nd or 3rd in the West got you a 4 or 5 seed in the NCAA. This year 12-4 and winning the West got no respect.

Auburn is the team I prefer to stay at the bottom.

You are correct that our SOS killed us this year. My point is the non- conference schedule was not great but it was OK. We played Purdue, OK St, Seton Hall and Providence. Our SOS did not go up after conference play started because of the weak SEC West:
Auburn  256
LSU      227
Ark       130
Miss St  120
Miss      86

It is to our advantage to play in a conference that gets national respect.

An improved Arky will definitely help. I think another problem was Miss. St. losing it during conference play. Had they and Arky been stronger (and Bama still won, of course) that would have made a big difference this year.

OUR SOS hasn't mattered in the past and yes I know our record was not the best. The NIT didn't even look at us in the past. RTR!
