Ted Roof Gets Out While the Getting Is Good

Ted Roof is leaving Auburn to take the same position at UCF. The only reason you would leave a major program (well, not as major as Vanderbilt or Kentucky, but still) to take the same position at a lesser school is because you're about to be fired. I'm sure there's a joke in there about rats and a sinking ship. I'm sad, really, because I enjoyed the job Roof did at the barn. I hoped he could be there for a long time. I assume Gus will be gone soon as well.

With UCF going to the badly misnamed Big East, this may not be a bad move.  In addition of course of saving face from being fired.

Gus didn't get the NC job but there are other chances for him out there.

Actually I can't hate on Gene Chizik.  It would be like kicking a
 puppy.  I think he's just a schmoe of less than avg head coach intelligence who was brought in as a puppet. 

He did tick me off with his comments about Alabama having 4 plays only and playing 100 year old football...but UA wiped the floor with them on 100 year old football
