I can't imagine that he would leave before the game.  If you had a 50/50 chance to put a second national title on your résumé, would you leave early to go to Memphis?


If hired, he's gone. His head won't be in the Alabama game anyway. Why should he wait a month before leaving, when he can be putting together a staff, making the rounds at Memphis, recruiting, etc. Once hired, his loyalty belongs to Memphis. I don't have a problem with it. Once hired at Memphis, his resume at Alabama become irrelevant, it's what he does as a head coach is what will count now.

Sometimes there is more to it than money.  I am hearing that they agreed on terms, except for one item:  facilities commitment.  Good for CJM.  He should hold out for a better opportunity.
