DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Former Alabama star and current Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain has been arrested in connection to a fight in Decatur. WAFF 48 News is working to confirm what McClain is charged with.

Police say they responded to a shots fired call at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Skyview Street SW.

When officers arrived, they found one person who had been injured in a physical altercation. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene and drove himself to Decatur General Hospital. He was treated and released from the emergency room.

The incident is currently under investigation.

He should have moved close...like Huntsville.  He should have put a little distance between himself and the past.  I know he has family, but sometimes family is better a short drive away anwyay.  I love Rolando and I hope he gets it together.  This doesn't sound like him but it's not like I know him personally.

DECATUR, Alabama - Former University of Alabama football player Rolando McClain was arrested by Decatur police today on charges connected with a shooting on a Decatur street Wednesday night.

Police said the victim told them that McClain, now a linebacker with the NFL's Oakland Raiders, put a pistol to his head while he was lying on the ground, and fired a shot next to his ear after he begged McClain not to shoot him.

No excuse for his behavior. I don't care if he is only 22.

McClain, 22, was charged with third-degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm inside the city limits, all of which are misdemeanors, police said. He was in Decatur City Jail this afternoon on bonds totaling $2,000.
