What a win for Bama, VCU was tough enough but you add the Refs in there and it was really tough. Bama has a lot of quickness on the team but VCU was quicker and they play just about everybody that was dressed out. With about 10 minutes to go in the game I thought Bama was done, VCU was draining the 3's and Bama couldn't get anything to fall but Green stepped up and made a basket as the time clock expired and the crowd really got into it then.

I think the crowd turned the game around for Bama, they said there were 10,500 there but I don't think so. It's a shame that with the team Bama has they can't get folks to spend $12 and come to the games. I understand this is a football school but this basketball team can do a lot for Bama football recruiting too, just ask CNS.

Mitchell has some healing to do, he's not able to jump and rebound as he normally does but he's tough, hopefully he'll be better by Thursday. The big difference on this team now and six games ago is the play of the freshmen. They are getting tougher with every game and I mean physically and mentally. That was a very nasty press and man to man defense that they played against tonight and they handled it.

Again, a big win for the Tide tonight against a very good defensive team, I don't think Bama will play against a better defense this year. Roll Tide!!

Thanks for the report Jamos.  I saw a lot of empty seats on TV.  I really miss being able to pop in for a game.

The announcers said the constant rain kept a lot of folks away, plus it was the end of the holiday. Chris Stewart said there were all kind of wrecks on the interstate. I think you will see a sell out for Georgetown. I really did not see all that depth with VCU, Alabama played 10 guys last night.

Good win for the Tide. They could have quit with about 8 minutes to go and down by 6 points. They continued to play hard and it paid off. Green played well and the young guys are getting better each game. We need to get Mitchell back on two good ankles.

On TV it did not look like 10,500 in the stands, maybe 7,500. The small crowd made a lot of noise late in the game. Game attendance was doomed with the game being on Sunday night, end of a long weekend, 8:30 start time and bad weather. We should have a good crowd (sell out or close to it) for Georgetown.

This is a game that Bama would have lost last year, especially with Mitchell limited and Green at less than 100%.  The added depth and tough play from the freshmen made all the difference (although Green was key).  RTR!
