A Red Bay motorhome company is capitalizing on Iron Bowl fervor in a new marketing campaign that's getting some early traction on YouTube.

Aubie and Big Al are feuding over Facebook friend requests and stolen toilet paper in ads by Tiffin Motorhomes based out of Red Bay, Alabama.

The company released commercials yesterday featuring the mascots from Alabama rival schools the University of Alabama and Auburn University.

The teams' annual meeting is in 17 days. The videos were released on the company's website as well as YouTube the same day of the ESPN film "Roll Tide/War Eagle."

Leigh is Van Tiffin's son.  Van Tiffin was famous for a field goal in an Iron Bowl where his kick literally saved the game in the last minutes.  He was local legend at least.  Just for fun I went to his wiki and it said he never missed a single kick at Bama.  Should we look into cloning?

I knew about Leigh, Van, and the kick, but I did not know they had anything to do with the RV company.  I don't believe the wiki article about never missing a kick.

The Tiffins have managed to do pretty well (for a luxury item manufacturer/retailer) during the economic downturn, largely because other manufacturers were forced to shut down their lines.  And they put out a pretty good product.

BTW, Van missed his share of FGs at Bama (he was 59 for 88).  He was perfect on PATs (135 of 135).  He owned the record for most PATs in a career until a kid named Leigh managed to hit 1 more than him during his career.  Wink

Some of you may recall when Leigh had his worst game against Arkansas early in his career that Van spoke out and said that all kickers have bad days and that he had his share at Bama even though he's remembered as a hero.  Sounds similar to how Leigh spoke out for Cade, right?

It has to be extremely difficult (mentally) to be a kicker.  Imagine thousands of eyes focused on your foot...half of them hoping you fail, half of them desperate for you to make it.  I can see why they would stick together.

I can't tell where the LOL stuff stops or starts on this thread. BUT everyone (except me) was calling for Leigh's job that Arkansas game too.
