1990. 10th grade. A gawky kid with glasses too big for his face and an acne problem (yes, I really was a hit with the ladies) is in his first few weeks of high school. Walking down the stairs from the second level to the bottom level during change of classes, I miss a step and bounce on my butt down the last 4-5 steps with, oh, problems 70-80 people around. Did loads for my self-esteem.

My first class at U of A was being introduced by the prof. He spoke for 40 minutes about the course outline before he opened it up to questions.

My first question of my college career was, "What's a syllabus?".

Second to falling down the steps had to be in gym in the 7th grade. We were wrestling and I was going against this other guy about my size. We were having a pretty good match while the other guys and the coach were watching. He flipped me over was attempting to pin me. As I struggled to get up, I ripped one right there. The match ended in a draw, but I didn't live that one down for a while.
