Auburn's passing game needed some sort of spark, so coach Gene Chizik made a change at the most important position on the field.

Tuesday, Chizik announced that sophomore quarterback Clint Moseley will be sacrificed take over for junior Barrett Trotter as the Tigers' starting quarterback when Auburn heads to LSU this weekend.

This will make the third straight week LSU has faced a new starting quarterback for the opposing team. Before Moseley, Florida's Jacoby Brissett got his first career start in a loss, followed by Tennessee's Matt Simms, who had his first start of the year with Tyler Bray sidelined with a broken thumb.

"We've been struggling offensively the last couple of weeks. I don't feel like that's a secret," Chizik told reporters Tuesday. "We need a spark there. I feel like in the second half of the Florida game, Clint came in and gave us somewhat of a spark when we needed it. I think he's earned the right for the opportunity to start, so he'll be starting in Baton Rouge Saturday."

"He's really stayed focused along the way. Certainly, during the last couple of weeks he's really tried to elevate his level of play in terms of preparing like a starter."

I remember seeing video of him crying when he didn't get the job. He maybe crying again when he gets beat up this week.

He's an Alabama fan.  Still has a crimson tide wall in his room.
