I am actually considering buying Falcons season tickets, but I am going to wait to see how the new stadium pans out. They are seriously claiming that they are building a new open air stadium. Location is up for debate, either in downtown at current location or in NE Atlanta near the old GM plant. Either way, if it is open air I won't be buying. My preference would be a massive redesign of the current location to make traffic flow easier and parking/tailgating more convenient. And build it with a retractable roof!

This might be the answer.

Shoot for the SECCG I don't care about tailgating myself. I am there for the Bama win only. I use to work down there in construction where the Dome is, and it was wild then. RTR!

I like New Orleans as well.  More SEC post-season history in New Orleans than anywhere else.

I wouldn't have an issue making two trips there a year.  But that is the catch, the Sugar Bowl tie-in would send a lot of SEC fan money to the state of LA every year with two major post-season events being located there.  So, it won't happen.

In lieu of that, I think Houston should get some consideration.  Reliant Stadium is nice and I'm a big fan of the retractable roof.  I think it gives a very unique feel to the game and atmosphere, especially if it changes up during the event, like : roof open for pregame and the halftime show but closed during the game to avoid delays in the event of adverse weather.

Plus, Houston is just outside of SEC country (without being too far) and offers a true neutral site.  More importantly, since we lost out on acquiring aTm, it would provide great SEC exposure and recruiting ops in the east Tx area.

Che, I never considered the downside of the SEC CG in New Orleans vis a vis the Sugar Bowl.  You're probably right.  Dang.

And although I like your argument about Houston, I doubt it'd get one vote of support from the SEC office, coaches, or schools.  It's just not in the SE part of the SEC.  I like Houston, been to many meetings and conferences there (oil companies - ugh), but I don't think it'd sell.

Sorry.  E-cred for the suggestion.

I cant believe they are talking about being done with the georgia dome already.  It seems like they just built the thing.

I still say Mobile.  Tongue

Ladd Stadium was where we played our high-school home games.  Doesn't seem like they just built that thing. Grin

You're right.  Mobile would have to build a dome before the SEC moved there.  Won't happen.  Mobile doesn't have the money.  Now, Biloxi has the cash (casinos).  But that makes little sense.  How about somewhere in Fla?

How about going back to the Gray Lady if we are going to move it from Atlanta, of which I don't think it will ever happen. RTR!
