It ended with a thud today at Mizzou:

Lost 4 of the last 6.  Not the way you want to end.  I wonder what CNO really thinks??

He may think Grant left and has a high rated team and then the last guy didn't have much fun maybe I bit something that taste really weak. RTR!

I think CNO is thinking we can not catch a break.

Lost J Rojas who was expected to start at the PF position before the season started.

Lost J Gary before the season started. He was projected to be a similar player to Shackelford who played well for us this season.

J Quinerly non getting NCAA clearance to play this season. CNO was counting on him to provide depth at the point.

Losing by 1 point in the first game of the season to Penn at home and losing a 2 point game on the road to a ranked Penn St team meant going 8-5 in non-conference play in lieu of 10-3. We had both of those games won and let them get away.

As we were starting to over come our slow start to the season left handed H Jones breaks his left hand. He was averaging 10-12 points. After missing a few games he returned and played great defense but his scoring dropped to 2-4 points and was a non-existent on the offensive end most games.

We got back on the NCAA bubble and J Petty goes down. He played yesterday but only scored 1 point and did not look like himself.

I also think he is looking forward to next year. We only lose B Bolton unless Kia decides to enter the NBA draft. We get all the injured players back. Even mid season when we were playing well we had a short bench. I think that is why we played poorly at the end of games and often gave up big leads. We missed Rojas bad. Our front line was very weak and got outplayed every game. Smith and Davis are not SEC caliber players. Reese wants to be a guard and plays soft in the paint. We must improve our big men play.

I think CNO was impressed with the mid-season crowds at Coleman when we were playing well. We were averaging 13,000 and they were vocal. The students were back. I think he knows Alabama will support a winner.

CNO has been recruiting hard. Only going after blue chip players on a national level. We only signed one in the early period but he wants to sign a couple more. That has to be an offseason priority.

This year was disappointing but I think next year will be much different.

Good assessment, pmull. You're right, just like the football team, injuries stymied this team. Would love for Kira to return, and everybody be healthy for next year. I do think CNO is the right man for the job.

I give ^^^ to both of the above. I think he will build a winner here but it will take 4 to 5 years to change the culture. RTR!

I'll be glad when Bama gets out of the intramural basketball and starts playing real basketball...  Lips Sealed

This is the kind of ship that distracts our basketball coaches. The same thing happened with CAJ.

Of course, the men’s basketball team had an awful day in Missouri, putting the final nail in the coffin of any NCAA tournament at-large hopes. Because social media is mostly awful, a ridiculous rumor started about Nate Oats’ family not adjusting well to Tuscaloosa, not being happy, etc. It was enough that Nate’s oldest daughter felt the need to chime in.

for everyone saying that you’ve heard various things such as that my family hates it here, etc... i can speak on behalf of MY family and say we love it here and we love the people of Tuscaloosa and we all love The University of Alabama and the opportunities that go along with it

We all know the types of people who attack coaches (from behind social media) when teams lose.

It may be over for good for Alex Reese.

Quote
Alabama was set to face Tennessee in the opening game of Thursday’s action just before the league announced the entire event was canceled.

That led teams to be sent home and Kentucky to be declared the SEC’s automatic bid for the 2020 NCAA Tournament. Hours later, the NCAA announced that tournament was canceled, too.

Reactions to the news were varied but Alabama forward Alex Reese found an interesting way to respond as he was arrested in Tuscaloosa for public intoxication early Friday morning. His bond was set at $300.

Could open another roster spot for CNO to bring in a player that better fits his playing style.

And here goes another one:

The BB roster should look quite different this fall.
