I wouldn't argue against these 5, but there are just too many great players that were this good, to narrow it down to these names.

Agree, but a case could be made for 1 or 2 other players. Completely agree with choices of Hutson, Woody Lowe, & John Hannah. Henry & Thomas are strong candidates but I could see replacing them with Lee Roy Jordan and either Stabler (Bryant called him his best QB) or Amari Cooper (to be replaced by Jerry Jeudy next year?).

Must have never seen Lee Roy Jordan play. He led a defense in 1961 which only gave up 25 points all season. Best defensive player I ever saw. Against Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl he made 31 tackles.

I love D. Henry, but I don't think he's the best RB to ever come out of Bama.  That's quite a crowded field.

A lot of great names there but a lot of great names left off too. It is hard to top these guys but it is hard to leave off some of the greats like Namath, Stabler, Musso and a kicker. RTR!

Bingo. He’s a great one but what about Bobby Humphrey, Wilbur Jackson, M. Ingram, T. Richardson, Musso, and on & on?

The only way to determine the best player at any position is by comparing statistics for each.  I loved watching Ingram and T.Richardson as well as D. Henry.  I think Henry's stats are probably a bit better than most, if not all those you mentioned.  I remember following Henry when he was in high school and I was drooling hoping he would come to Bama.  He did and didn't disappoint...

I think D. Henry does have most of the top stats, which is the reason for his inclusion.  But S. Alexander's stats don't include bowl games.  Including bowls, S. Alexander has the most carries, most yards and most TDs (including receiving TDs) of any RB in Bama history.  He also has the most TDs in one game.  And while Henry ran under Saban's schemes, with outstanding players at every position, S. Alexander played for Dubose.  Alexander also proved his skill at the next level, in the NFL.

But for me, it was an eye test.  Watching Bama RBs over the years, S. Alexander is the one who stood out the most when watching live games.  I had just moved from Dallas and had been watching Emmitt Smith rush for the Cowboys, and I felt that Shaun Alexander was almost at that level too.

These are great RB's but through history you take the RB's who came up through the Wishbone, everybody knew we was gonna run the ball they still made great stats. RTR!

Crap! I forgot all about Alexander so thanks for the reminder. I think he was better than Henry and might belong on the Top 5 list.
