Monday March 19th
First real day of spring practice.  Practice Report:

Ale Kaho was once again not seen with the rest of Alabama’s inside linebackers, or anywhere really. He wasn’t at the opening practice either, and Alabama coach Nick Saban did say after that first absence Kaho is dealing with “some issues.” So, Dylan Moses still led that position group through drills, followed by Joshua McMillon, Markail Benton, Jaylen Moody and Shane Lee.
As for the outside linebackers, Anfernee Jennings continued to lead that group. Terrell Lewis and Christopher Allen were behind Jennings in order, both wearing knee braces. Eyabi Anoma and Jarez Parks then followed.
Cameron Latu continued to work with the tight ends rather than linebackers. He started that during the first practice because, as Saban put it, Alabama has “some experience issues at tight end and also some depth issues.”

From what I have seen Latu has the body and the speed for TE. This is the year that the NCG goes through Alabama and Clemson again. Usually whoever is ranked #1 at the first of the year does not win the NCG. RTR!

Bama is shutting down Terrell Lewis for the remainder of the spring.  I hope this is truly for precautionary reasons as claimed and not that he's having lingering issues with his knee.

I'm with you. We badly need him this year.

I really think CNS wants him healthy at the start of season. I bet it is just safety thing cause he has proved he knows the system but he just needs to learn the calls on defense with our new coach. They don't require contact. Do ya'll think so? RTR!

The New Offensive Strategy:

Naturally, fans are wondering if Saban and Sarkisian are going to make major changes to the offense and all signs point to no. Alabama isn’t suddenly going to try and revert back to seven, eight years ago and primarily become a power offense again, especially with the way the game is set up to aid tempo and spread attacks.

The other part of that equation, of course, is Tagovailoa. He’s already on the record about what fans should be looking for when the season starts.

“With Coach Sark, it’s really full-field progression reads,” he said. “Last year, we worked more on RPO, and we had that opportunity to perfect it. Now we’re trying to protect full-progression reads, so reading the entire field this year. I think implementing pure progression reads and RPOs is really going to be big for us this season.”

It other words, Alabama will be looking to attack anywhere and everywhere, especially downfield.

I hope he means like that and catch the ball for sure. I don't know how good Sark is, but at USC he scored a lot points. RTR!

I think he got away from that a little towards the middle to end of the year, hence the interceptions.  I remember in the NC game on his second pick the corner dropped off the rec and basically had the deep receiver double covered.  It is hard to force the ball in the SEC.

That was a good strategy by Clemson.  They showed Tua blitz, so he simply threw long to Jeudy.  Must have been something they picked up on film.  Jeudy was blanketed.

Yea like Juedy was the only one he looked at when Blitzed. RTR!

"Remaining signees in Tide's No. 1 class who are not yet on campus"

12 remaining signees will enroll after graduating next month (typically most arrive Memorial Day weekend). And if you think not enrolling early means not being able to contribute early, look at guys like Jaylen Waddle and Patrick Surtain II who both enrolled in the summer last year and both went on to putting together incredible first years..

Good reviews on each of these players.

Good stuff. I'm looking for several immediate contributors from this class.
