Yes, I blame it on the offensive coaches too.  It was almost like they had one foot out the door.   

The more time that passes since the game, the more this idea rings true.


I understand the feeling. I had jobs in which I changed locations for a promotion. The minute you find out you are transferring out, it's almost impossible to keep your focus on your current assignment. Your mind is on moving, finding another home, calling the new location to talk to your new boss, etc. I am sure the coaches tried but their focus was split. Been there, done that.

Exactly.  It takes a special coach with laser focus, someone like Kirby, to maintain their edge while working at a job they're leaving. 

Saban of course is put in a Catch 22 -- go with the coach you've had all season or throw some new guy into the mix.  Neither choice is ideal.
