Will the real Bama show up Saturday or will the distractions of Homecoming bring out a lackluster effort. I'm very cautious about Bama after they've played a big game and have a "should win" game the next week.

I think this team is different.  They are hungry and focused.  They learned a lot from last year's mistakes.  I don't think they are going to let up until they get that crystal football.

This team is having more fun, game after game, than I have ever seen before. They are going to want to continue that this weekend, I think. Vandy always seems to play us tough with some close scores. I don't think so this time. Maybe not 49-0 because everyone will play. But maybe 31-7 or something like that.

That is a problem that goes back over 40 years. I have never understood it, but it is true. I see us winning 35-0 with Sims, Lacey, & Fowler getting significant work.

I agree with all of the above but I also think CNS has this team pretty well grounded. He brought AJ back to reality pretty quick with settle the F%# down.

I asked a similar question to hscoach yesterday.

Quote
Question:
Hscoach, do you think the coaches will have any trouble keeping the team focused for the next few weeks? I am concerned we could have a let down with Vandy and Ole Miss coming up after the two big SEC West wins.

Response:
I think they will keep their focus for a couple of reasons.  One they don't like being ranked behind anyone, LSU or OU.  Second the leader seem to be strong on this team at this point.  They have faced adversity in a sense they fell behind UF and came back.  I know the coaches, as  they always do, stress the importance of the next game.

I know ya'll remember back when Vandy use to give us fits no matter how good we was or how poorly they played. They were a Thorn in our side. We would win but Lordy it would be close in back in CBB days. I never figured that out. I hope we win with that 49-0 score but I don't think so. RTR!

^^^ This. What may appear as a letdown will be the early and often substitutions. See PS in the drivers seat much of the 2nd half.

Bama will be playing against themselves in that they want to keep their defensive records and impressive rushing stixs. Vandy is there just to watch.

The difference between this Alabama team and Alabama teams of the past is that if they come out flat against Vanderbilt they could still win by 30 points.

Vandy must have a pretty good secondary to have that many interceptions. I think Bama will come out running the ball first against Vandy, if Vandy stops the run then I look for the nickle and dime passing attack with a long one occasionally. I think Bama really wants to work on the ball control offense for whats awaiting them down the road.

All the talk about this "D" being the all time best has them inspired, I do believe. Vandy will have to scrap for every single yard.
