I am to the point where I am hoping that UGA, Oklahoma, and OSU all three lose making the committee decide whether to jump UCF over Michigan for the 4 seed or not.  I then hope that since UCF wins their conference championship and Michigan doesn't play for it that they will be given the chance to play Bama (as they think they want) in the first CFP game... SC would finally get to win the score pickem I believe...

Since Okie plays early (11am CT) and OSU plays late (7pm), Okie can solidify their position in the committee's mind with a big win.  But if Okie barely escapes, then OSU can crush lowly Northwestern to leap into 4th.

In other words, the schedule of Saturday's games favors Okie.

Do you really think so?  I don't.  No way that OSU will leap over Ok after having lost to 6-6 Purdue by 29 points while OK's only loss was by a field goal on the last play of the game to a ranked Texas.

I have to agree with NALT here. Even if Ok only wins by a point and OSU blows out NW 65-0, I don't see the Suckeyes getting in.

Oklahoma is sure glad that Army crept into the top 25; otherwise, their squeaking out of an OT game against the Cadets would be getting mentioned a whole lot more.

I think the committee is struggling with both of these teams. OSU has a very bad loss and has not been impressive all year until the Michigan game. Oklahoma does not have a defense. They are averaging giving up 47 points in their last 4 games. I think a close high scoring win (ex: 52-48) opens the door for OSU if they play well against a NW team they should easily beat.

That scenario loses all its gusto since their QB is out.  It's a no win situation, because they will have their excuse card ready to play.

I've been hoping for a Bama v ND first round game since the middle of the season, but with other teams losing, it is becoming less likely.

Maybe if OK destroys Texas they will move into 3rd seed...

If things stay as they are, Clemson will have an easy first round vs. ND, and Bama will have a much tougher game vs. either OK or OSU.  Advantage Clemson.

I disagree, CP, about OSU. I think we stomp a mudhole in them. I honestly don't think Ok can hang with us either. IMO, our 2 toughest remaining games are Ga and Clemson, if we get that far.

All I am saying is that OK > OSU > ND.  And with that being said, Clemson could have a clear advantage in the playoffs, in terms of player fatigue, by playing ND instead of one of the other more talented teams in the first round.

OK is the best of the three right now.  Their offense will stretch Bama's defense to the max.  But they don't have the corresponding defense to compete.

OSU is probably the most dangerous because they have the most talent.  Give OSU a month to prepare, let those talented players to get their act together, let them throw the ball up for grabs during the game because they have nothing to lose, and they could be a tough matchup.  I remember what happened in 2014, when OSU was the 4th seed, barely making the playoffs.  A whole different team showed up.

ND, on the other hand, hasn't really played anyone, and recently struggled with USC.  Either Bama or Clemson would stomp a mud hole in them.
