Tua needs to step it up.  He hasn't completed a pass in the 4th Quarter this year.  Maybe he can't sustain the momentum; maybe out of shape.

 

Do you watch Thinking Out Loud?  They had a segment about that.

No.  What is it?

It is a one hour show that comes on the SEC Network on Mondays.  They review the SEC action from the weekend.  It is hosted by Greg McElroy and Marcus Spears.  They had a pretty good segment about Tua's lack of production in the 4th Qtr.

I never expected DeLong to really have a cannon of a leg. He’s at his best when aiming his punts in a short field to pin the opponent deep. However, his lack of consistency and multiple shanks so far this season have been disappointing. It will be interesting to watch to see if he manages to right that in the coming years. He may never be the field-flipping weapon that we may have envisioned, but he might become that trick-up-the-sleeve player who can really mess up an opponent’s offense by pinning them on their own goal line with regularity, as long as Tua keeps moving the ball to around midfield.

You know Chechem, I would rather have a guy with a 40 yard average that can pin a team deep, than a guy with a 60 yard average and it lands in the endzone every time. What ya think? Even JK didn't average 50 or 60 but he could as you said pinpoint a punt for field to flip. RTR!

When CNS told the press to write about the things we did wrong I don't think he meant "errbody pile on the punter!"

Alabama has particularly produced disappointing results running through the B and C gaps on the right side, with its ball carriers averaging three yards before contact -- almost a third of a yard less than it has netted through the same holes left of center.

This is not doomsday-level stuff, of course. But the state of the ground game has been called into question after Alabama managed to net 109 rushing yards on 28 carries in a 45-23 victory over Texas A&M last Saturday...

He probably is.  He told the press what to do, and they did it.  I'm not sure he envisioned calling out individual players, but might help with motivation.

One thing for sure I don't think we can win a NC on just arm of cuz Tua. We need Damien, Josh, and Najee to be carry some yards. RTR!

In 2016, Baker Mayfield led the nation with a quarterback rating of 196.4. It was the first time since Russell Wilson in 2011 that someone finished with a QB rating of 190 or better. That should help put this into perspective. Tagovailoa's QB rating through four games: 230.5. That's 14.7 points higher than anyone else in the country and 30.8 points higher than anyone in the SEC.

I'm surprised we grade out as the second best OL in the SEC:

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

Left tackle Jonah Williams figures to be an early draft pick when he leaves school for the NFL, and after impressing as a freshman and sophomore, he has taken his game to another level in his junior year. Through four weeks in 2018, Williams is the highest-graded offensive tackle in the nation and has allowed just two hurries from 132 pass-blocking snaps. The unit overall lacks a weak link, and while right guard Alex Leatherwood is the lowest-graded player on the line at 64.5, that still sees him in the middle of the pack in the SEC, ranking at the 16th-graded graded guard out of the 25 to play at least 200 snaps. As a group, they have been key to Alabama’s running game, and it’s no surprise that through every gap where they have run at least three times, they average over five yards per carry.

Interesting. I can see the high grade for pass blocking. Not so much for the run.

Lordy, seeing Kentucky that high kind of really surprises me. What happens after one loss though, do they drop like a rock? I have to be honest, I am prejudice toward our players but I don't see our O-line rated that high at all. Our run game against TA&M really showed that against good teams we have a hard time running the ball. RTR!
