A three-time all-state selection, Hatcher is the Arkansas state record holder for career passing yards (15,907), career passing touchdowns (188) and single-game passing yards (757).
He threw for 5,766 yards and 66 touchdowns last season while leading his team to a 14-0 record and a state title.
Well he's a winner. From looking at his highlight reel, he has a nice touch on the football and good accuracy, although he's not throwing bullets. No major offers, Arkansas State wanted to grayshirt him, which is why he didn't officially sign. Bama has been after him for some time as a preferred walk-on, but ultimately offered a scholarship.
"They like that I'm a very accurate thrower," Hatcher said. "That's definitely my strongest point. I'm not a 6-5 guy with a bazooka arm. I'm the guy that's a detail guy that wins and cares about the little stuff. I really focus on my accuracy and mental game. That's what they saw in me and they thought I could be a good help for them. I was super excited that they even thought about me as a player."
