I wonder if this is a small "warning type deal" to keep Jalen playing? RTR!

There are a whole lot of schools that his son would not start for. He's blinded by bias.

Quote
"Coach Saban's job is to do what's best for his team. I have no problem with that," Averion Hurts said. "My job is to do what's best for Jalen—and make no mistake, Jalen is a quarterback, and he wants to play quarterback. He loves Alabama, loves Coach Saban and everything about that place. But he wants to play, and he will play…"

Averion stops mid-sentence because the idea of his son not playing for Alabama isn't one he takes lightly. What if Jalen doesn't win the job, he is asked?

He shakes his head slowly, answers begrudgingly. "Well, he'd be the biggest free agent in college football history."

Says he won't consider changing positions, etc.  Click here for link

Just GREAT.   Banging your head against the wall. Banging your head against the wall. Banging your head against the wall.

"FREE AGENT"??  Then take your product and leave.  I hate this mentality!!

Jalen is a full grown man.  He may or may not go along with Poppa.  We shall see.

Reminds me of the CB, I think, from Louisiana whose mother grabbed his LOI and ran with it trying to keep him from playing for Bama... He played for Bama anyways...

Alabama's QB controversy just got a lot wilder
This quarterback controversy already had more drama and backstory than seemed possible. Now it's starting to feel like an episode of Friday Night Lights.

With the way that Jalen has conducted himself the previous two years regarding any QB controversy I won't be concerned about this until I see it happen...

With Tua's injury this spring, the QB question won't get answered until fall camp.  And unless something happens in camp that is decisive, maybe not until the 3rd or 4th  game in.  At that point, does Jalen leave and sit out a year?  Or does he stay in school, graduate in December and then be able to play immediately for another school?
