Sources think there's a good chance half this year's tournament field will end up vacating their seasons.

Quote
Multiple sources who’ve been briefed on the case and are familiar with the material obtained by feds told Yahoo Sports that the impact on the sport will be substantial and relentless. Sitting under protective order right now are the fruits of 330 days of monitoring activity by the feds, which one assistant US Attorney noted Thursday was “a voluminous amount of material.” That includes wiretaps from 4,000 intercepted calls and thousands of documents and bank records obtained from raids and confiscated computers, including those from notorious NBA agent Andy Miller.

“This goes a lot deeper in college basketball than four corrupt assistant coaches,” said a source who has been briefed on the details of the case. “When this all comes out, Hall of Fame coaches should be scared, lottery picks won’t be eligible to play and almost half of the 16 teams the NCAA showed on its initial NCAA tournament show this weekend should worry about their appearance being vacated.”

I've been wondering when this time bomb would go off.  Apparently not before this years NCAA Tournament.   It is a shame to see that school on the plains living in the moment, when we all know they're guilty as heck.

Quote
NCAA officials are staring at the prospect of a tournament with a winner that will likely be vacating its title – and many others eventually vacating their appearances. There’s a lingering mushroom cloud over the sport’s upcoming showcase event that won’t go away. The most fascinating and tricky variable here is time....

What would happen if the information under protective order were to be released before the NCAA selection show on March 11?

A source who has been briefed on the case laughed: “You might see Tennessee-Chattanooga as a No. 2 seed.”

I smell barn stink.

Top assistant fired after being mentioned by name in the FBI report and later arrested. Two staffers indefinitely removed from the team. Two players sitting out at a minimum the entire year for accepting money. The coach has lawyered up and will not talk to anyone including the school AD and president.

But the team is winning so no one cares. Business as usual on the Plains.

They're going to need an extra supply of toilet paper to wipe this one away.

Definitely the Aubs are guilty. BUT... don’t assume we’re not.

I do not assume we are not guilty. However, The NCAA cleared Sexton. Our internal investigation found wrong doing by a staff member and that was handled promptly. I can only hope our investigation was thorough and complete. The way we handled things was much different than Auburn.

I think CAJ has too much riding on his coaching -- son playing for the team, prior NBA coaching -- to risk tarnishing his reputation with illegal activity.

Bruce Pearl, on the other hand, is a known cheat.

I don't think anyone is expecting it to be at the hands of Coach Johnson if we do have a problem.  I wouldn't have expected it of Grant either.  But then again some assistant getting their palm greased is an easier situation to envision.

The fire will be easier to contain now that they've built their smaller arena.

For some reason they love to needle Alabama about not selling out all their games.  It apparently doesn't matter to those goobers that we average about 4,000 more per game than they do.

They're not good at math (e.g., 17 is more than 2).
