I am at a disadvantage.  Most of the ones on your list played before I was born.  Walter Lewis is probably the earliest QB I can remember watching.

Too many good ones to try and determine who was best. Different times with different offenses, etc. Out of every QB list in this post none played during the wishbone era. Terry Davis, Gary Rutledge, Richard Todd, Jeff Rutledge and Steadman Shealy were all pretty good. I would not say any of them were the best to ever play at Alabama but they deserve on the list. In a passing offense Jeff Rutledge would have been awesome.

What is your criteria? Championships, passing yards, total yards, number of wins, win %. AJ ranks up there pretty high in every category. I do not think it is a stretch to say he is arguably one of the best ever.

As far as pure QB talent, my top 5 would be:

1. Joe Namath
2. Kenny Stabler
3. Richard Todd
4. AJ McCarron
5. Either Walter Lewis or Jeff Rutledge

Just to clarify, I left those older guys off my list because I never watched them play, not because I don't think they belong.  I have no idea who was better between Namath and Stabler. or how they fit in with the guys I listed.  They are both top 5 though, no doubt about that.
