McElroy and Pollack thought Aggies made perfect sense for Jimbo, because:

1.  mojo down at FSU, Clemson is the hot ACC team, Miami is upcoming
2. job security at FSU might be in jeopardy in a few years
3. with Aggies job, he will be given a few years before naysayers
4. Aggies have spent a fortune on facilities
5. Aggies have fortunes to spend
6.  Aggies job would be a big raise and have a huge buyout

Plus if they do fire him in 5 years they will pay him 10.2 million within 60 days to just move on to the next big contract.

Another factor that no one has mentioned is his family situation.  If the rumors are true about what happened with his wife he may just want a change in scenery to help put that chapter behind him.

Agree, SC...I'd thought the family situation is a 'push' factor to get him out of FL.  Don't know the age of his kids though.
