TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Tom Murphy, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Razorback beat reporter (and former Press-Register Alabama beat reporter), has agreed to answer questions throughout the week leading to No. 14 Arkansas visiting No. 3 Alabama.
Q: Defense. We know Arkansas has one. What do Alabama fans need to know about the defense entering the game?
A: The Razorbacks worked especially hard in the spring and fall camp to develop defensive run-stopping power for games opponents such as Alabama, Mississippi State and LSU.
They'll have some beefy five-man fronts among their packages for the Crimson Tide, and they are clearly better against the run.
Jerry Franklin, newcomer Alonzo Highsmith and Jerico Nelson make up a veteran linebacking corps.
The cornerbacks ran with Troy's fleet of receivers on Saturday, but Isaac Madison, Darius Winston and Tevin Mitchel did not get their heads around well enough and gave up 373 passing yards.
