I actually got to watch some last night. Kisner and Matsuyama are tied for the lead at -8. Justin Thomas and Rocky Fowler are at -3.

Some of the golfers had to come back out early this morning to finish their rounds because of darkness due to the rain delay yesterday.

It is good to see Bud Cauley back. He will make the cut. He is +1. He opened with a 69 but shot a 74 in the second round.

Unfortunately, he is an also-ran, at this point at +3. Jason Day blew up on #18 yesterday for a quad bogey. He started the day at -6. He is at even par now. The course grew some teeth overnight and bit everyone. Kisner is the leader at -7.

Justin Thomas was -2 for the day and is tied for fourth overall at -5. Cauley went the other way and is at +4.

Other notables:

R Fowler -1
Kuchar  +2
McIlroy  +4
D Johnson +4

I did not get to see any of yesterday's play. WHNT, the Huntsville CBS station, lost their signal and was out the air most of the day. It is back this morning. I do not watch golf most weekends but I do enjoy the majors on the weekend when stakes are high.

I followed the leader board on my phone. JT must have played well. Some notable players had trouble on the closing holes. Kinser closed double, par, bogey on the last three holes. Rick y Fowler was in 4th place and finished bogey, double, bogey. Second place Stroud finished bogey, bogey.

Watching the golf Channel last night they think JT made be the man to beat today.

Even JT said he didn't know how he shot -2. He said he didn't feel like he played well. I like his chances as much as anybody's though. Hopefully, he learned something from the final round at the US Open.

I can't understand why J Day played his second shot on #18 the way he did.  If he had pitched out to the fairway he would have had a good shot at getting to the green in 3-shots and at worst making a 6.  He ended up with an 8!!!

Those last three holes are likely to decide the outcome.

Several guys in position to win. JT has as good a chance as anybody if he can keep his drives in the fairway, and that's not a sure thing.  Kisner's drives were in the fairway or light rough and that enabled  him to make lots of pars.

Looks like whoever wins will be a 1st time major champ.  Will be a big deal for that guy!

Heading to the back nine, it's looking like whoever screws up last...the next man standing will win.  May be a playoff.

JT needs to kick it up a notch.
