Thanks 2. Yes it was a double. My phone filters out glare so it didn't show up as vividly as in person. That pic was looking east from our rental house toward a horse farm.

I'll send 2 some pics from the Beartooth Mountains and ask if he can post them.

We had lunch in Red Lodge, Montana with Bob, a fishing buddy.

He told us that his friend hit a fawn recently that crossed the road behind a doe.

Wouldn't you know, One mile south of Bearcreek MT a doe crossed the road in front of us and I I slowed because of the story. Suddenly a fawn appeared and I slammed on brakes. The boat and everything in back slid forward, but we and the fawn are okay.

Same thing happened same way a few hours later near Rock Springs. Geez!!

Glad all is ok. Hope the rest of the trip is less exciting that way. RTR!

Just now getting caught up with seeing the pics on this thread.  Our phone/internet has been down for a week now and they just got it back working today.  Would love to see them while at work but our wonderful Big Brother blocks most of the sites that host pics, including Chech's.  Anyways, I love all of those pics of the wildlife and the wild flowers are absolutely beautiful.  I hope you guys made it home safely too Chech...

Thos people use to live there and make a living. They were free to obey the law of the land and now if you look I didn't see any people standing there in the homes with opening. It is kind of sad to me. Well done Chechem and thanks 2 for posting. RTR!

We got to Arches National Park at midday.  It was 105, and later reached 106 degrees.  No wind.  Like an oven!

Most of our pics were from the car.  The arches are gigantic, as you can see in the pic with a person standing inside one at right.  Here are some of the sights:

One of the neatest places in Arches NP was a series of petroglyphs along a wall.  I convinced LF to get out of the car to walk a short way to see them.  I'd seen them a few years ago.  They were done by some ancestors of the modern Indians.

Canyonlands National Park is a bunch of mesas overlooking the Colorado River and its erosion canyons.  Much like Grand Canyon NP.

As we left the park I saw a gopher snake dead in the road.  Some dope ran over it.  Beautiful snake, 5-6' long (as seen with my shoe as a measuring rod).  We used to catch those in Louisiana when I was a kid!
