"Moving On: In Greg McElroy, Alabama waves goodbye to a national championship quarterback for the first time since Jay Barker. The two-year starter will be missed for a lot of reasons, not the least of which will be that over 27 career starts, he threw only nine interceptions in 638 pass attempts. That's just one every three games, a ratio his successor would be thrilled to call his own."

I have still not decided which "team" I am on as far as the QB's.  I do think there is a reasonable chance Sims passes AJ.

I don't think this race will be determined in the spring. I think the competition goes until August. But it will be interesting to see how A-Day goes.

I agree.  Barring injury, we won't know until August who is the starter.  I think Sims has more potential, but there is so little experience I can't be sure.  AJ has at least seen the games and been on the field.

Toss up right now.

I believe I'm gonna be a "bandwagon" supporter on this one.  Whichever one gets to be QB1 that's the bandwagon I'm jumping on.

LOL! That's the opposite of bandwagon for Alabama football. If you're a real Bama fan, you always want the second string QB playing.  Grin

Therefore, I FIFY.

Hopefully all of that nonsense last year about the backup is done, especially the second guessing, slamming CNS for not replacing the starter, and complaining constantly about our #1 QB performance.  CLEARLY, CNS knew better (as evidenced when AJ got in).

I want to see Sims push AJ so hard his nose runs. I also want AJ to step up in front of Mr. Sims all he can. If they push each other so hard they will both be great. I do however think Sims has the speed AJ has the arm. Alabama fans are going to have fun watching the next National Championship QB run that offense. RTR!

The competition should make both guys better.  I've been an AJ fan, but I think Sims is really talented.  I wouldn't be disappointed to see either behind center.

I want to see if we possibly go to a 2 QB system for running and throwing. I think it could work if the OC can use them both. RTR!

Which ever QB that gives us the best chance to win is who I want. Starting off AJ may have a slight edge but Sims can catch him. Either way a tough battle for the job will only benefit us in the long run

Just hope both stay healthy and out of trouble.

We need a winner, nothing more.

While it's true that AJ has more game experience than Sims, his only meaningful experience came in a tough spot during the AU game, and frankly, he looked like a scared little girl during that series.

Whichever one gets the job, I'm assuming they do just fine.

I agree. He was thrown in the biggest game we play and he looked very scared. Greg had gotten knocked out and he had to go in the face of that. RTR!

But I hope he's still kicking himself for not excelling then.  He had a chance for Bama lore.  Instead, he melted.  Not hating him, it was VERY tough, but it was a chance.  We don't get many chances like that as football players.

Well when they go against each other it is going to make for some fine spring time discussions. I think our whole team will be a picture in the making. Our defense is going to have a bunch of pushers also. RTR!
