I know I have mentioned this before and since I have coached rec's, I really hate seeing this.  Has anyone or does anyone notice that it looks as if some rec's know they are not going to get the ball and don't run routes full speed or look at the rec who is expected to get the ball?  I would love to see a tight and wide shot of the games to better understand what they are doing.  It would give me a better idea of what route combo's they are running.

I haven't noticed it, but (guessing) it might be due to the limited experience we have at QB.  Maybe the number of targets is limited to simplify the offense for the QBs, and the other receivers are preparing for blocking.  If not, you can bet the coaches will be chewing some arse about it.

I think they have split the field. Passes are going right or left. I'm not sure the qbs are searching the whole field. The replays showed several receivers wide open on the opposite side. The check down is only to the backs.
Those are my thoughts.

DJ Hall was the worst but I see it every game though. I thought maybe CNS was touching on this when he was upset about the receivers not playing fast enough.

After game one, CNS made comments about players cutting off routes, playing too eager, which meant the timing of the play was off (and probably led to Sims' interception on the curl pass).  I don't recall CNS saying they weren't "playing fast enough", but he'll get that fixed.

Somewhere in there is why DeAndrew White didn't catch a pass in game 2, I'd guess.

Are we running ANY deeper routes?  Seems like we're keeping everything bunched within 15 years of the LOS.  We're doing ourselves a disservice by not at least attempting to stretch the field a little, IMO.

AJ's check downs/progressions will get better as time goes. But what hs coach is saying is a different matter. If we have guys not running/completing their routes since they know the progression won't get to them, this will limit the spreading the defense patterns, and maybe hurt the yards after catch. They better hope CNS doesn't see that.

I could be wrong, but if you go back and watch the PSU game:  Remember the play when I think it was KN who ran the under route for the first down.  It looked to me as if the outside rec was looking inside at the route as well as the other rec who cleared the way for KN.  It is like the route was taged and they all knew they were not going to get the ball.

You are right about the receivers not playing fast enough statement, it was that they were playing too quick or fast.
