OL still needs work...too many of our run plays were stuffed, and their tackle was in our backfield too many times. Not taking anything away from Penn State, but we gotta get better.

I kept looking for TR to spread a little wide to the left or right, and AJM to pitch him the ball for an end sweep..I think that would have worked.
Sure would have beat those up the middle plays for 2-3 yds at most.

Sure, the OL needs work.  But if you watch the replay, there were few breakdowns and missed assignments.  Overall the line played well.  Penn State has a good D-line, and they crowded the line to stop us.  We finally wore them down and reaped the benefits of the inside game by the 4th quarter.

It certainly wasn't all bad on the line; I think they graded a B+.

I agree with you, everyone is on the OL and it's not always their fault if the running play doesn't work. A true example of this was on the fake punt, The OL had a hole big enough to run a semi through for him but Smelly missed the hole and was very lucky to get the first down. Don't get me wrong, the OL has some improving to do but so do the running backs. I thought they did a pretty good job of protecting AJ yesterday, Penn St is no slouch on the D line.

I have no complaints but was amazed when we had the ball on, I believe, their one-yard line with two downs to score. Two runs would surely have done it, but we throw an incomplete pass and then kick a field goal. Lack of confidence in the line?

  In a word, "yes."
4th and inches and a fake punt, followed by fourth and goal and a FG. Confidence is earned, not given, and our "O" line has certainly not earned that confidence form CNS and staff.

I think our biggest weakness is in the midle. We are not getting consistent play from either Warmack or Steen. If we could get CK in at LT and move BJ back to guard, our line play would improve immediately.

Can't understand why we don't run wide more often.  It wears the defense down probably as much as incessant pounding inside.  Make them defend from sideline to sideline.  And make our running game less predictable.

I agree with the last field goal because it pretty much locked up the game for Bama. It was the highest percentage play of the two in question, touchdown or field goal.

I like the bird in the hand much more than a thousand in the bush, we're talking about another NC.
