This probably going to be ugly. I sure hate to see how we do in the tourney, I hope and pray we do well but it is starting to look like all other years. RTR!

That would mean a 6 p.m. Thursday game in Nashville with No. 7 seeded Ole Miss (20-11, 10-8 SEC).

Alabama (17-13, 8-10 SEC) lost to the Rebels 74-66 back on Jan. 7 in Oxford. The winner of the 7-10 game will play the No. 2 seed Kentucky at 6 p.m. Friday.

We lost our swag and confidence and it cost us dearly. Ole Miss is playing good ball right now and I don't like our chances very much. Even if we get past them, we will have to play Kentucky next and they've owned us this year. I'm afraid the best we can do is the NIT at this point.

It was a good run for the team this year, much more enjoyable that the past few years. There are better days ahead and I'm looking forward to it. RTR!!!!

That is true, and we should be happy with the overall improvement. I just hate that we blew an engine coming down the stretch. A matter of "What could have been".

They could always luck out and make the dance, but they are certainly NOT deserving.  Looking at it as this team somewhat overachieved anyway.  Yes, better days are ahead.

So would it be better to make the big dance and take an early exit or to the NIT and play a few more games?  Either way, this season has to be considered a success IMO...

Have you heard any reasons for why the team has looked so bad 4 games in-a-row? In the UGA game the announcers stated that Riley Norris had been playing thru an injury, something I had not heard before. Is anyone else injured & slowed down? Did the team just wear down, even though we played an 8 man rotation but too many minutes for 3 or 4 of the players? Did our luck just run out?

 Huh?

 Huh?

Riley injured his right hand and it affected his shot. It was considered a minor injury and did not keep him from playing but when his points went down no one stepped up and Obasohan had to carry even more of the scoring load. No one else was injured to the best of my knowledge.

I do not think we were any more tired than any other team this time of year. We overachieved this year and our luck ran out. We played hard and were in nearly all games under the final buzzed. Too much Obasohan and no one stepping up to help him in the final 3 minutes of games killed us.

They doubled Obasohan at the end.  Nobody else can shoot a fg or a free throw.
That's about it.

Coleman should have been the guy to step up. Earlier in the year, he showed signs of getting it together, but it seemed that if he missed 2 shots in a row, he lost his confidence and either quit shooting or tried to do too much. Hale was another disappointment. As J eluded too, I just don't think his head was ever much in the game. Any production out of those 2 and it might have been a different story.

Next year, hopefully, will be a better year.

I am seeing where Bama is a projected 7 seed in the NIT.  In other words, depending on how some of these smaller conference championships play out, there is a real chance they won't even make it to the NIT.

Isn't that kind of like sitting at the kids table during Thanksgiving anyway?
