So, just strangle their rushing game, have fun on offense, and collect the bling!

A play or two here or there that went our way instead of in favor of our opponents and this year's NC could have easily been Bama's 6th or even 7th since 2008...

True.  Plus, during 2010 and 2013 (in particular) we had a bunch of injuries during the year, especially to our DBs and OL.

Gotta have injury luck to win the Natty.

This shows to me that some teams, those that haven't "been there" can't stand up under the pressure...

True! Bloody amateurs!

You know, Clemson left one starter at home after he tested positive (think that was it), plus Alexander was injured.

Haven't heard it yet, but surely their fans are thinking, "We only lost by 5. If that idiot hadn't smoked weed, we'd have won!"

They have thrown out every conceivable excuse for losing that you could ever imagine...

Yeah, '13 and '14 teams could very easily have won championships.  The '13 team never seemed to have that championship quality, but still started 11-0 and lost to the BCSCG runner-up on one of the flukiest final plays in history.  They would have rolled Mizzou for sure, and FSU would have been winnable.  Last year's team played like champions most of the year, just got outplayed by a very good OSU team on the night it mattered.

All the talk about Bama's dynasty being dead earlier this year was absurd.  Only once in the last eight seasons has Bama gone into the final week of the regular season not in championship contention.  Only once in eight seasons has Bama lost more than one regular season game.  Only once in eight seasons has Bama lost a regular season game by more than six points.

And don't forget the '08 season.  Had we beaten UF in the SECCG we would likely have won the BCSNCG as well...

Great numbers.

I don't think the stats answer the question, as those teams were a play or two away from a championship.  Certainly the rush and total defense seem to matter, maybe defense does win championships.

Quote
75.7 Rushing yards per game were yielded by the Alabama defense, the fewest in the nation during the 2015 season. This is the fourth time that Alabama has had the nation's No. 1 rushing defense, joining the teams of 1945, 1992 and 2011. The combined records of the four Crimson Tide teams that have led the nation in rushing defense is 49-2.

Saban says the answer is mental, team leadership.

The 2013 team looked tired by the end of the season.  I saw no fire in that team, only fatigue.  I think the pressure of trying to 3-peat finally got to the team...  there is no way a fired up team allows that fluke play to happen!  There is no way a fired up team doesn't convert a 4th and short to put the game away.
