Auburn will play Memphis in the Birmingham Bowl, it has been confirmed.

AL.com reported earlier this week Auburn was expected to land in the in-state bowl at Legion Field. ESPN reported today the matchup against Memphis was confirmed.

Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 30. ESPN will broadcast the game.

The last time they played there, an Auburn alum, who was so disappointed in their season, parked his car near Legion Field and left his 2 tickets under the wiper blade, for anyone who wanted them, then left to go shopping. When he got back, there were 20 more tickets stuck under the wiper blade.

This is a great trip for the barn team. I hope they get to visit the Vulcan and B'ham Zoo. That will be a trip they will never forget.

What a great recruiting tool for the barn. They get to tell area recruits "If you come down the to the pasture to play ball we promise we'll take you home for the holiday.
