WM looks like a spoiled brat with the fits

feel sorry for the Cocks , they just hired a big one

IMHO...USCe panicked.  They had other good choices.  If I were the AD, I'd stipulate in WM's contract that he has to go to some number of anger management sessions, and that he can be fired for "conduct unbecoming the university."

So much for Auburn D next year.

Quote
It wasn’t the season that Will Muschamp had envisioned when he became the defensive coordinator for the Auburn Tigers, but as it turns out, it may have been just enough to get him another head coaching job.

Reports say that Muschamp has stepped down from the Tigers after just one single season:

I don't get it.  He failed as a head coach at Florida.  In one year at Auburn as DC the defense was awful in the first half of the season and showed moderate improvement in the latter half of the year.  His sideline antics against Bama were an embarrassment.  Now he's ready to be a head coach again?  Welcome to the bottom half of the East for the next decade, South Carolina.
It does seem like a strange, and risky, hire.   Stars

The strangest part is his extreme politicking, a**kissing, & wild promises to get the job. He's beyond desperate & Spurrier is helping. Strange is a great word for this situation.

From the Associated Press:

A person with direct knowledge of the decision said Muschamp will take over the program and hopefully bring some stability to a program that saw longtime coach Steve Spurrier resign in midseason.

Somehow, the word stability doesn't come to mind when I think of Muschamp.

Just don't make him angry.  You won't like him when he's angry.

Now the Navy coach is shopping.

Quote
One of the stars of the movie "Meet the Mormons" will get his chance to meet a whole lot of Mormons on Monday.

Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo, who has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Bronco Mendenhall as BYU's head football coach, will visit BYU on Monday, the Capital Gazette newspaper of Annapolis, Md., reported Thursday night.

Quote
Niumatalolo's son, Va'a, is a sophomore linebacker at BYU.

Greg Schiano named associate head coach/defensive coordinator at Ohio State. Strange. Is Urban getting ready to bail, again?

 Huh?

So Rutgers hires his DC and Meyers hires Rutgers' old head coach to be his DC and associate head coach?  Talk about a carousel.

Probably a good hire for Meyers.  Schiano is a good coach, and has head coaching experience, which means he should be knowledgeable about all those administrative details that Urban will have him doing.  Strange that Schiano didn't get a head coaching gig with all the open jobs this year; an NFL failure can succeed at the college level.

Interesting stuff at Texas.

Quote
An all-out blitz from Texas leaders apparently paid off. Tulsa offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert will be the new offensive coordinator for the Texas Longhorns. He will not be alone either, as offensive line coach Matt Mattox will be joining him to fill the same role at Texas.

Quote
Texas has also announced Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline will not return to the Longhorns program in 2016 as Strong continues to make staff changes in hopes of turning a corner before it is too late.

Kirby Smart being, well, smart. Read the link. Very interesting.

New Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is beginning to fill out his staff.

The program announced Saturday that it has hired Pitt offensive coordinator Jim Chaney for the same position. Chaney spent a year with the Panthers after working at Arkansas.

"Strong continues to make staff changes in hopes of..."  not losing his job.

It seems like Strong is still learning on the job.  It is like he is just now figuring out what kind of identity he wants for the Texas offense.

I think Strong tried to micromanage the offense & try to win mainly with defense. It blew up in his face, big time. He needs to do like Gary Patterson at TCU, turn the offense over to his coordinator & don't bother them. He can do the defense but let the O guy alone.

From the Wall-E Story link above, what former players think of the Pruitt hire:

Quote
"I just knew," Perry said. "When I found out Kirby was leaving, I think — in my opinion — there's only one guy that can replace Kirby, and that's coach Pruitt. And I think that's the only guy that they could have gotten. Honestly, I wish he would have come back when I was there. I love Pruitt."

Florida State ranked third nationally in total defense under Pruitt. Georgia was 17th last year. It's eighth this season.

"He's a player's coach," former Alabama linebacker Nico Johnson said. "All the players love him, and he works his butt off and expects a lot out of his players. He knows the system. He knows what Saban wants, and he's a dang good football coach, I think. I think that's a great hire."
