Georgia will open as 1-point favorite over Alabama this afternoon, a Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook spokesman told ESPN.

If Georgia remains the favorite for Saturday's kickoff, it will end Alabama's streak as a favorite at 72 consecutive games, stretching over five years. It's the longest streak in college football history.

Georgia looked good , I was kind of expecting this    Banging your head against the wall.

maybe this will be one of the "press clippings" the players read this week

I'm surprised it's not more than 1 point.

It's hard to know much about Georgia.  They've looked good, but they haven't played anyone.  South Carolina, their toughest game, is terrible this year.  Georgia looked OK v. Vandy.  They beat ULM 51-14 to start the season.  And they played Southern on Saturday.

Normally Vegas gives the home team a 3 point edge, so Vegas has actually subtracted two points from the spread, giving the edge to Bama on a neutral field.  I think Bama wins a close one.

Hmm, maybe that makes Bama a 3 point favorite then. Doesn't the odds makers give the home team 4 points for home field advantage?  Smiley

Georgia is the big one.  Our record against decent teams this year is 1-1.

Bama will be favored by game time. Greyson Lambert is no better than Coker and UGA will be hard pressed to run the ball against our DL.

I'm not all that concerned with Georgia this year.  Yeah they've done pretty well but other than USCe they haven't played anyone that is all that good.  Against our common opponent, in a weather shortened game UGA gave up 206 yards passing and 45 yards rushing where Bama gave up only 83 yards passing and 9 rushing to ULM in the whole game.  Taking in account that the UGA was their first game of the year, I'd say that still wasn't that impressive for UGA especially with a RB like Chubbs.  UGA hasn't shown that they can stop the run or pass yet against a decent opponent whereas Bama has, see OM stats as a reference.  I will have to see the UGA run game beat us before I'll believe that they can run on our front 7.  That leaves them beating us through the air which again, I'll have to see that before I'll believe it.  I think Bama takes this win back to T-town.
