EL and TR had good stats. Glad to see the OL picking things up. With MB, CU, DH, and CJ making the defensive plays, that tells me the OL must have been TCB over the DL line.

I hope Jamos has a better report than Don Kausler, Jr.

In response to Don's info, please don't be too hard on him, he is giving you everything that CNS wants out there, CNS said the same thing to us after he met with the media. He refers to it as internet fodder.

Now, to this afternoon. It was a hot but enjoyable day with a very good scrimmage with lots of good plays and then some bad plays. The intensity level on both sides of the ball was very high with both the offense and the defense having their moment of glory.

All of the running backs, receivers, and quarterbacks had some big plays and it was a very decent day for the offense but the defense had their big plays as well and had a good day. There were some long passes for gainers as well as some short passes with good runs for big gains but all of these were not on the number one unit. The same for the defense in that on their big stops it wasn't always against the number one unit.

This team can be very good, I think they are there physically but we won't know about the mental aspect of it until game time gets here. They showed a few weaknesses today in a couple of areas but it might have just been a bad day for them. I think the players are ready to play someone other than themselves.

Roll Tide!!

From the stats, it looks like we spent a lot of time passing.  Only 13 carries between EL and TR, plus all the pass breakups.  I suppose they are really working the QB's to try and zero in on who the starter is going to be.  This also implies that the running game is probably in good shape and they are not concerned about it.  Just speculation on my part, of course.  Maybe our eyewitness will be back with some details soon.

I think it is a toss up right now, they both made some big plays and both had a couple of bad plays. Really, I think it was a satisfying day, my opinion, for the players and coaches.

Sounds like DBs and LBs are in mid-season form already.

Hey Jamos, you mentioned that CNS spoke with you guys after the practice.  I just watch the press conference and he looked tired, but really calm and at peace.  I take this as a fantastic indicator that he is very pleased with where the team is at.  How would you characterize his demeanor when he spoke with you guys?

By the way, I put this on the home page and gave you an extra +25 e-creds (in addition to the +5 you get for being on the home page).

Thanks for the report and answering our questions.

You are exactly right, he is pleased with some things about this team. To me, they looked like they were ready to play but I'm sure the coaches may differ. This was a very evenly matched scrimmage today and there was a lot of intensity as these players are trying to earn a position. As I told pmull, the qbs looked dead even, both of them had some bright moments but also some bad ones. You would think that they would get a little separation in the next two weeks, but both of them are practicing very hard.

J, do we look like a top 5 team from what you saw today? Hopefully the good plays outnumbered the bad.
