Is this the best group of receivers ever assemble at Bama?  You have Foster, Stewart, Sims, Ridley and Howard.  Not to forget the transfer from Oregon State and Black who came in as a high recruit but not getting as much playing time.

I think so. No superstars like Julio or Coop, but all are good solid players. Foster was impressive Saturday.

Funny how I was talking to my wife about this same thing on Saturday. I really like true freshman Calvin Ridley & the way he jerks the ball out of the air. Mullaney (Oregon State transfer) looks to be a major addition. Foster looks like the real deal. I think the jury is still out on Cam Sims, Ardarius Stewart, Black, & OJ Howard, though Howard has looked good so far. We need 3 more games to see more of what they got. Black has shone flashes, just need to see more. Having a solid QB wouldn't hurt, either.

I disagree 2.  I think at least a couple of those, if not all of them could be superstars.  It just depends on how the OC uses them.  Definite possibility for lots and lots of success with them all...

Julio by himself had more ability and physical gifts. Watched him tonight. He literally dominated the game.

They certainly have potential, but I don't think anyone of them is on par with Coop or Julio just yet. I think Ridley will be that superstar, either as the year goes by or next year. Foster could be that guy this year. That was a breakout game for him Saturday.

ATU, you're right, Julio was a beast last night in the first half. I hope he can stay healthy this year.

Agree that we've got a group who can get separation with sped and technique.  We lacked that before Cooper.

But how many of these receivers are physical enough to break tackles and get those big gains?  So far it's been mostly speed.  Of course, they have to block too!

I like this group of young receivers. As a group they may be the best we have ever had. At this point in their careers I do not see any 1st round picks like Coop and Julio but several of these guys will have a chance to play in the NFL. In time one or more of them may develop into a 1st or high 2nd round pick.

I think the whole group worries defensive coaches BUT they aren't worth a flip if we don't have a QB who can get the ball to them. The QB will help make or break the WR's if they can't get the ball in their reach. RTR!

Not the best group because it doesn't include Amari or Julio but lots of talent if we spread the ball around.

Well, he's gotten better since he turned pro.

Overall probably not one dominant guy in this group, but much more depth, so I'd have to cast my vote in favor as the best receiving corps at Bama.

A nice large talented group of WR's with 1 or 2 who could turn out to be very special. I think Ridley, Foster, Stewart, or Sims could end up as All SEC type players. I like the potential I have seen.

I think, overall this is the most talented group, on the same team, that Bama has ever had.  Howard is a little over a third of the way to the toal catches he had last year.  Five players already have 7+ catches.  I don't think a defense can double one guy because the others are capable of making plays.  Also, I really like, and I have said this before, how they catch the ball.  Plus, there are others who are  suppose to be high rated recruits that haven't seen the field very much yet.

Bama is very blessed this year with good/fast receivers. Hopefully we can unload on Ole Miss this Saturday with a good running game and use the receivers for the icing on the cake. Wink
