Late in Alabama's win over Florida Atlantic last season, Cyrus Jones fielded a punt at his own 20-yard line and accelerated through the middle of the Owls' return team before eventually being pushed out of bounds following a 70-yard gain.

The Tide's punt returning responsibilities will go from one Jones to another.

Jones — who returned four punts last year and eight as a freshman in 2012 — will replace wide receiver Christion Jones, who was Alabama's primary punt returner the last three seasons.

The experience and ability of Cyrus Jones — a senior cornerback — are large reasons why coach Nick Saban said Saturday "we feel good about" punt returning.

Special teams has been good to us. I have to say though since Javy left here we haven't anybody that was a threat to go everytime. I think we need that threat back this year and our Special Teams will be elite again. RTR!
