His No. 1 finish at the Elite 11 camp was not surprising considering he had 3,000 yards of total offense and 29 touchdowns for the Hueytown Golden Gophers last season.

Sucks, but what I figured.  Here's hoping he goes high in the MLB draft.   Pray

With his very possible detour to MLB it's less of a loss than perhaps Gunner.  But it is a loss and it does raise the question of why CNS seems to have trouble getting highly rated QB's to come to Bama?  Yea, I know AJ and P Simms were highly rated, but that was 2 - 3 years ago.  This is a "what have you done for me lately" business.

I wonder if he could pass a football. If he could, as big as he is, he'd go down less than an Alabama QB at an A day game.

No offense meant to the fine folks of Hueytown, but how drunk would you have to be to nickname your school the "Golden Gophers"?

My high school ring has a gopher on it plus a gopher hole.

The 2 quarterbacks we have now are gonna hold down the starting role for some time.  Any quarterback that comes in this year probably knows it's gonna be a while before they get their shot.

These kids have not signed anything yet. CNS will have a top notch QB in the Feb 2012 signing class. I have 100% confidence in CNS and this staff's ability to recruit.

Personally, I thought it was folly to spend so much time chasing this guy. You can just about bet he's going to the MLB if he's in the first round of the draft and they're waving a million dollar bonus at him.

 Huh?

He could block in the big man package.

These kids do not want to go to a school and be a 3 year understudy anymore, times have changed.

This explains your love for racing. The "Alabama Gang", Donny and Bobby Allison, Hut Stricklin, and who else? BTW, Golphers are kinda/sorta goofbally. Is Red Farmer on that list?
