I love it.

If you missed Mark Gottfried's post-game press conference on Tuesday, you missed a man who was ready to shoot hot rage-lasers out of his eyes at pretty much everybody on the team. That is understandable given that his team was dreadful in an important non-conference game.

Why do you dislike Coach Gottfried? He is a former player who was a starter on some of Wimp's best teams. He is also a former coach who took us to 5 NCAA Tournaments and one Elite 8. I understand we needed a coaching change just like Mike Shula in football but I don't hate them. I actually want them to do well unless it hurts us.

I think I dislike him because of Trevor Lacy leaving. I think he played a big role in Lacy wanting to leave Bama but I could be wrong.

but I live near them and work with some of them so basketball has nothing to do with it ... JMHO

Lacy's parents wanted him to transfer. They thought Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, etc. still wanted him like they did when he was in high school. NC St was not his first choice or even in the picture until no one else wanted him. Like you I may be wrong but that is the way I recall it.

He is an arrogant, preening jerk. Plus, I don't respect his treatment of his wife. His dislike of Alabama over his firing is obvious. He was interviewed as part of a documentary about the "tornado game" in Atlanta. He knew he would be interviewed so he wore an NC State sweatshirt as a jab at Alabama. The filmmaker did a good job of using a tight close-up so you could not see it, but once it was partially shown. Like I said, he's a jerk.

NC State beat previously unbeaten and # 2 Duke 87-75 today. Nice win for Mark Gottfried.

Crap, I missed the game because of football. Lacy seems to be on a roll now. No doubt a big win against Duke. It will be interesting to see how things shake out in the ACC.
