What is SECN+? I just checked the SEC Network Alternate station and they do not have it listed.

Tonight's game was no more than a good scrimmage for the team and I think it was what the team needed to get the Wichita State game out of their minds. It was fast paced which usually means there is a lot of sloppy play but it was entertaining. Tarrant and Cooper did not play, for whatever reason, but I think everyone else that could play did so. I thought Jimmie Taylor started to exert himself, as he did in the Wichita State game, in the second half of the game. I wish he could start the game being a big part of the offense because when he does that, he seems to rebound on both ends of the court much better which is something the team is struggling with. There were no super stars tonight but just some good tough playing on both ends of the court that can look very sloppy at times.

Bama will play Appalachian State this Sunday and they should provide Bama with a bigger challenge than Stillman College did and I think it is a good tune up for UCLA who comes to town the next Sunday. UCLA will be a must win game for Bama.

UCLA is not overpowering this year but we still must beat them. They are 8-3 with losses to 3 good teams. UCLA plays Kentucky today and if they could beat UK, then it becomes even bigger for Bama. Not to sound over dramatic, but if we lose to UCLA, we can probably kiss the NCAA Tourney goodbye.

I do not know why we schedule Div II games. RPI and the NCAA will not count this game as a win on our schedule.

App St will be a little better. They are 3-5 with an RPI of 226. This should be an easy win but they have beat Virginia Tech so we can not take them too lightly.

I think it is too early to say UCLA is a must win game. We do need to beat them. Lack of OOC quality wins have hurt us in recent years but not as much as OOC bad losses. We should go 9-3 with a win against UCLA. Our 3 losses were to very good teams on the road. The 18 game conference schedule is very important. There will be some opportunities for quality wins and road wins in league play.

The game with Stillman was not an original part of the schedule. CAG thought the team needed another game of any sort to fill the gap between Wichita State and UCLA and Stillman was the only available team that could serve the purpose.

I really don't think our "good" losses will impress the NCAA Committee & once again our poor play with OOC teams will be a killer. We now have this reputation & it will haunt us. Unless we can beat UK, Florida, & go 12-4 in the SEC, we will be disappointed once again.

We play 18 SEC games. IMO if we go 8-4 (which is worst case, I think we will be 9-3) in OOC and 11-7 in SEC and win one SEC tournament game we will be in with a 8-10 seed.

I do not think the NCAA will be impressed with our losses but I do not think it will kill us either. The bad losses like Mercer, Tulane, St Peter's and Auburn have hurt bad in the past.

I hope you're right but we have to beat someone very good, we can't go dancing beating average teams. Plus, we have to win on the road. Our first 3 SEC games are A&M, @ UT, & @USC, so we will know more after those games. Some disturbing trends are reemerging, poor outside shooting (3/20) and even against Stillman our rebounding advantage was only + 5.

I do not think you can use the Stillman game as an example of how we are playing. Two starters, Cooper and Tarrant, did not play to give them some rest and heal minor injuries. Devin Mitchell started and went 0-5 on 3 pt shots. Dakota Slaughter played 15 minutes. Some guy named John Gibson played. I've never heard of him must be a walk on. It is good to get the bench players some playing time but not much else was gained by playing this game.

I still think Tarrant & Taylor are the key to making the Tourney. Tarrant with his ball handling, energy, & shooting & Taylor inside on D, rebounding & some scoring.
