"He's got some special quickness in pass‑rush," Saban said. "Late in the game (Saturday), we had guys that played a lot of plays. We have a lot of confidence in Rashaan that he can go in there and give us some pass‑rush, give us some minutes.

"He did a really good job of pressuring the quarterback. He plays with great effort. I'm really pleased with what he was able to do when he got the opportunity (Sunday)."

Alabama edged Auburn in a heated recruiting battle for Evans, who ended his high school career as the No. 1 player on the AL.com A-List. Alabama freshmen aren't made available to the media during the regular season, so Allen was asked how much the win over Auburn meant to Evans.

"That's something you're going to have to ask him, but I have no doubt, it probably did (mean a lot)," Allen said.
