Division-wise, 111 media members picked the Tide in the West, easily outpacing predicted No. 2 LSU’s 30 first-place votes.  Those two are followed by Arkansas (23 first-place votes; 717 overall points), Mississippi State (one; 455), Auburn (zero; 406) and Ole Miss (2; 214).  And, yes, the defending national champion Tigers did not receive a single first-place vote from the media.

I wonder how many coaches wives around the country (forget the SEC geographical limitation) will have fantasies about CNS tonight. Even some of the coaches will. When CNS loses 4 guys to the first round of the NFL draft and then gets picked #1 the following season, but your husband is hoping to make the Top 25, you have to take notice and begin to get an uncomfortable stirring. When her husband spends months away from home trying to land some 3 stars, but CNS can walk into any 5 star home in America and come out a winner, she has to start wondering what it would be like.  When she receives middle of the night crank calls and hate mail from their own fanbase, but then reads that CNS is given bonuses on top of his already spectacular paycheck, she begins to fantasize a little. Then the romantic day dreaming turns into sexual scenarios in her secret mind.  Finally she risks her marriage and asks her mediocre Big East, or PAC 10 husband if he would mind a little role playing when bedtime Rolls (Tide) around. LOL
