Hugh Freeze: It's going to come down to...

Alabama at Ole Miss will be a matchup of one of the nation's top offenses and one of the top defenses, and Hugh Freeze says it’s going to come down to doing your job.

Alabama is scoring 42 points per game. Ole Miss is allowing 8.5. Freeze joined The Tim Brando Show on Friday morning and explained the mindset of his defense heading into this one.

“You’ve got to have gap integrity, and you’ve got to say at times, you know what, we’re going to put an extra guy to stop the run,” he said. “It’s at that point that, ultimately, what will decide the game — if you take turnovers and special teams out of it and say all of that’s equal — ultimately, what will decide the game is how many one-on-one battles your kids win versus theirs.

History shows us that this game isn't decided by "gap integrity".  Rather, it comes down to "knucklehead integrity".

For the past several years in games played in Oxford, Ole Miss comes out fired up (TOO FIRED UP).  Their intensity overwhelms their sensibilities (i.e., they act like idiots).  In a predictable pattern, Ole Miss DBs and LBs make late out-of-bounds hits on Alabama, giving us easy first scores.

Bonehead, not integrity; that's the pattern I expect to see.

Judging from the game day shots of campus, if they get anymore whooped up they are going to explode. If the team is that amped-up, Chech, I believe your prediction will be spot on.
