Alabama held Florida to 200 yards of total offense during a 42-21 win in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, so it’s no surprise that two of the top five individual defensive showings in the Southeastern Conference this week are from the Alabama defense.
1- Landon Collins, S, Alabama- Collins led the charge for a Tide defensive effort that surrendered only 200 yards of total offense in a 42-21 win against Florida. Collins, the former five-star prospect who could very well be the best safety in the country, had five total tackles, two pass break-ups and a key late interception in the victory. Collins is the complete package- he can cover, he can play the run, he’s a great athlete and has tremendous instincts. His performance was even more key for the Tide with Nick Perry out the first half and depth at safety somewhat of an issue.
