Alabama practice report: One starting WR returns to the field, another limited by injury

Monday practice:

-- Injured wide receiver DeAndrew White was back practicing after missing last week with the separated shoulder. Nick Saban said it would be a two-week recovery after going down in the second half of the West Virginia game.

-- Receiver Christion Jones was also in white with the receivers, but he wasn't running in the brief media viewing window. Saban said he expected Jones to be ready to play Saturday and return to practice as early as Tuesday....

Glad to see DeAndrew White back so soon.  Hope he and Christion are fully healed by Saturday.

D White is a very important part of our offense. I think he's this year's Kevin Norwood. Look for Ardarius Stewart to get more playing time, as well. He is an immense talent.

-- Don't count Leon Brown out of the battle at right guard just yet. Though Alphonse Taylor started Saturday and played more snaps than him, Brown was working with the first-team offensive line during Tuesday's viewing session. Brown started the season opener and split time with Taylor against West Virginia but was yanked at the end after committing his third penalty.

-- Here's what Alabama coach Nick Saban said about the offensive line, in general, during his Monday press conference:

"I think they made improvement in the last game," he said. "I think that again, I don't think statistics always really prove exactly how our group did. The pass protection was good for the most part. We got movement in the running game for the most part. We just didn't probably run it quite as much and that was a little bit determined by their defense.

"I thought that all the guys up front made improvement and I think it's going to be important that we continue to do that." ...

Lots of good news from practice?
Are we being set up for a fall??

--... For a while Dominick Jackson worked with the first group at right tackle, followed by Grant Hill. Regular starter Austin Shepherd rotated in after that.

-- Leon Brown continued with the first team at right guard.

-- Receiver DeAndrew White was practicing and running at full speed but Nick Saban said that doesn't mean he'll play Saturday. "He actually is running and doing some things but we don't think he's ready to play this week," ...

-- Fellow receiver Christion Jones was running just fine and taking snaps ...

-- Linebacker Dillon Lee was with the middle linebackers and was on first-team in nickle formation during team drills.

Reuben Foster has an ankle injury.
