Quote
Coker, a lifelong Alabama fan, would have to learn the offense quickly since he couldn't be in Tuscaloosa for spring practice. He's still rounding back into physical form, anyway. It was expected to be a 12-week recovery after tearing his meniscus in November against Wake Forest. He was still on crutches when watching the Seminoles win the BCS national title over Auburn on Jan. 6 in the Rose Bowl. ...

Good review of Coker, his arm strength, and his abilities as a QB.

So what would this move do to the QB competition, other than putting more guys in the tourney?  There must be something about Coker that CNS -- and presumably Kiff -- really like.  Gotta believe Kiff had some input in this decision.

Nobody knows for sure, but the speculation and rumors started long before Kiffin came on board.

Coker is at a huge disadvantage not being able to go through spring practice. I want someone to step up this spring and and go into fall camp as the clear favorite to win the job.

If Coker can come in and win the job this fall I hope it is because he is very good and not by default.

Didn't Awbren's starting qb this year come in to school in the fall?  Did pretty good too...

I will ask here also.  Shouldn't he be enrolled in school if he was going to go thru spring ball?

He cannot go through spring ball at Bama because he has to graduate from FSU before he will be eligible.  I doubt FSU wants him to go through spring ball down there.
