I have seen a lot of negative talk about the players & coaches, by our so called fans since last night. Oklahoma came out ready to play and I thought we did too as well. But when the turnovers started piling up because of poor decisions, poor ball security, and other reasons we dug a deep hole to try and climb out of. The TJ fumble and the pick six was huge!! And then miss a field goal at the end of the half did not help either. But the defense came out strong in the beginning of the second half and got some stops. The offense moved the ball too. But give credit where it's due Oklahoma did what they needed to due to win the game and we did not. We did see what needs to be addressed in the off season and I am very confident that it will be. Plus on the bright side we got a glimpse of the future with Derrik Henery running the ball! We all knew that we had issues at the DB position and the O-line as well. Both got exposed in some form last night. Again it will be addressed in the off season. We will have what may turn into the best recruiting class to date at Alabama coming in this year. Position competition will wide open and fierce in the spring. Yes I am very disappointed with the outcome of the game and in the way we played. But we did not roll over and kept fighting until the end. Bottom line is this; we have had a great run and I believe it will continue into the future. But you can not win every game every year!! It just does not happen. So if you want to be a FAIR WEATHER Fan then maybe you should think about supporting a different team. I have been thru the Great Years of Coach Bryant and the DARK years that followed. We have who is probably the best Head Coach in the game today in Coach Saban as our leader, and we have won more games in the last six years than ANY other college team in CFB History in that same time frame. So put on your BIG Girl panties and suck it up!! Life is not always peaches and cream and sometimes it SUX! But I am an Alabama Fan ALL DAY EVERY DAY no matter what sport is in season!!! Roll Tide!!

The statistical probabilities have been against BAMA all season.

With every game they won the odds of losing increased.

I hate that AJ and the departing players had to leave like this.  I can not imagine how hard AJ is taking these last two games, and specifically, the final play of his career at BAMA.

Much like the returning players of the 2008 team the players who are returning from this squad were given two bitter pills to swallow at the end of the season.

Then we went on to win 3 of the next 4 national championships.  Let's hope we have a similar regrouping process going on during this off-season.

And with the incoming talent from this incredible recruiting class, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Could you be more specific about exactly what the negative talk was you ae referring to? One poster made some silly remarks last night and several posters then overreact to "all the negative talk." In fact, some posters will consider some of your comments in your post to be negative, talking about the DB's & O-line, as an example. This is a forum (and America) where we can express our ideas & opinions. Coaches & players are not perfect and make mistakes. Is there a problem with pointing out the obvious? Just wondering. Thanks.

Losing is frustrating. We have won so much since CNS has been our coach we have forgot how to lose with class.

When you start the year # 1 and you are still # 1 on Thanksgiving you are playing pretty well. It is disappointing to lose the final two games but there is no reason to think our program is slipping. I would not want to be West Virginia opening the season against us next year.

I am already looking forward to next year. Roll Tide!

Well Peewee, nice write-up.  I think most posters on CRS are die hard Bama fans and are extremely glad CNS is our HC now and into the future.  But we are disappointed at the way the season ended and the weaknesses that were exposed.  College FB is constantly changing.  I feel a little like it's changing around us and we need to adjust our O and D schemes; get more imaginative in design. Cecil's column from yesterday gets at this.  CPPB had to change and he did.  CNS knows all this and if anyone can figure it out, it's him.  The future can be and should be very bright.  But it needs to have a little different look on the field.

Hey MD, my only complaint was about one poster (probably the same one you are referring to). I am very much in favor of people being able to speak their mind, but at the same time I think they need to stay around and be willing to defend what they say instead of spouting off mindless blather and then disappearing. I think 99 % of the people on here are willing to defend their opinion with class and respect for the other posters. Kudos to pretty much everybody on this board for (usually) keeping in civil.

Even you, MD.

Yeah, running & hiding after making a statement is somewhat cowardly. Also, I think when someone is challenged to give specific answers to a question and they avoid the question, change the subject, are evasive, or never respond, is not good either. If you make a statement, be able to defend it, don't ignore the question, that means you don't have an answer and can't justify/defend what you state. Folks, we're talking sports, a game played by kids. It's not life & death, so chill out about calling for censorship (which is really what some posters are inferring), the cheerleading, and the "happy talk." There's no enemies here, just a bunch of folks who care about sports, some in different ways than others.

There was a poster on the game thread who made a really stupid comment about Alabama and its performance against OK. I would have to go back and read the entire thread to refresh my memory but it was near the end. It's someone who does not post that much and I have suspected him of being a troll (AU fan) or just an unrealistic fan who thinks the Tide should be perfect 100% of the time and gets frustrated since we don't win them all. Not calling him a coward, but his actions are.

Roll Tide Peewee!

I updated the next game counter right after the game was over.  Only 237 more days until we get our next chance at 16.  And we have the playoffs next year, which should take some pressure off of us since we don't have to be perfect to get our shot at the title.

I'm not worried too much about breaking in a new QB, it didn't stop us in '92, '09, or '11, and probably other years but that is as far back as I can remember.  We have a stable of highly rated recruits to compete for that job this spring, and probably on into the fall.

I can't wait to watch Henry and see how many records he shatters before he leaves.  He is special.  On both of his TDs last night I told my wife as soon as he got the ball it was going to go all the way.  In fact, on that last one, I called it as soon as Yeldon went out and Henry came in, before they even snapped the ball.  She said they are going to catch him, on both plays.  I said no, he is going to pull away, which he did both times.

AJ might be taking it hard now, but his legacy at the Capstone is secure.

He'll be remembered for the great games he played, the comebacks, the championships, the girlfriend.

The two AJs.  The little girl with the bracelet.

Come to think of it, the way he talks about football, losses, priorities, he might be over it already.

Yep, I think I counted 15 starters returning & I love your counting down the days. Excellent point about the 4 team playoff.
