AJ McCarron won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and it was awarded to him last Friday at a banquet in his honor. The Unitas family said it was the best speech given in the history of the award. The video is about 10 minutes long and worth watching. AJ always handles himself well and represents the University with class.

Calling AJ humble is an understatement for this young man. I know the recovery from his injury was a miracle but I also think that him meeting Nick Saban was another miracle. CNS took him as a raw piece of clay and molded him into the fine young man that he is today and AJ now knows how to say thank you and mean it. We will always remember AJ as a fine example of what Bama players should be like, proud and humble.

I love how he defined the award as a "pure" award and not a bunch of statistics.

Great job by a fine young man.  The team player as he give credit to his coaches and team mates.  I think that wherever AJ's path takes him, he will be successful.  Bama has been fortunate to have this young man represent them.  Congrats to AJ.
